Rumor - Nexus 6 Launch In India Delayed Until Q1 2015

According to a new rumor, the launch of the Motorola Nexus 6 in India has been delayed until Q1 2015, owing to the supply related issues suffered by the smartphone. The latest Google flagship went up for pre order in the US via the Google Play Store very recently, only to run out of allotted units within a matter of minutes.

Keeping this in mind, it's not really a surprise that the Nexus 6 launch in India has been pushed further. It is likely that Google and Motorola will concentrate supply towards the American market with India and other Asian regions getting it early next year. The Nexus 6 was expected to hit over 20 countries of Europe and Asia during the first wave.

The smartphone was originally believed to break cover in India by the end of this month, so this news will certainly come as a disappointment to fans in the country. Since none of this is confirmed, we recommend you to take the report with a grain of salt as we await confirmation from Motorola and/or Google.
The Play Store page in India still lists the device as coming soon, so nothing has changed on that front. The 32GB model of the Nexus 6 has been priced at Rs 44,000 while the 64GB version will set you back by Rs 49,000.

The Nexus 6 is one of the most powerful Android handsets to hit the market with its gargantuan 5.96 inch 2K resolution display, the Snapdragon 805 chip and a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization. It also comes with 3GB of RAM and sports a massive 3,220 mAh battery with support for Motorola's new Turbo Charger. This is officially the first smartphone to come with Android 5.0 preloaded, so it's a very significant device for Google.

At Rs 44,000, the Nexus 6 is already quite expensive, so it might not be a wise decision to postpone the Indian launch. Early 2015 will see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9, so Google and Motorola will have their work cut out for them.
