If you asked me to pick one word from the dictionary to perfectly describe the effect that Chinese companies have had on the global smartphone market, I'd go for 'onslaught'. Without doubt. Why, you ask? Well, I don't think you'd really ask, but even if you do, here's why: some of the most interesting tech found in smartphones of this year roots back to Chinese origins. Some of the most sought after phones are made by brands that call China their home. And more!
I'm talking about devices like the Vivo Xplay 3S (the world's first 2K display phone), the OPPO Find 7, and the holy grail of smartphones, at least for the time being, the OnePlus One. These phones have not only left a mark in market aplenty, but have also managed to force consumers into reiterating their views on Chinese brands in general.
While the innovation continues to move forward, costs of existing tech constantly reduce, which means that there's now scope for building some decently spec'd phones for really low prices.
