Xiaomi Wants To Make A Dirt Cheap Go Pro-Like Action Camera
To some extent, big-size DSLR cameras have given way to compact mirrorless cameras. Having said that, there is a lot of demand for action-style video cameras where you find brands like Go Pro and even HTC. But now another brand wants to put its name into the ring and that's none other than the popular Chinese brand Xiaomi.
According to reports from China, the brand is looking to jump into the adventure arena and target video enthusiasts with a low-priced video camera. Rivaling the likes of Go Pro and HTC among others, Xiaomi wants to bring out a futuristic, powerful yet affordable camera that will be priced around Rs 10,000 pricing. Further sightings have highlighted the capability of the upcoming Xiaomi camera.
We're possibly looking at a camera with 138-degree wide angle lens that can shoot 4K video and a faster frame speed for full-HD video. The storage is supposedly expandable up to 128 GB, and if that's the case, we're looking at another winner from the house of Xiaomi.
While Go Pro has been the pioneer of this relatively nascent segment, but with the likes of HTC and Xiaomi entering this space, we can expect products going mainstream in the coming times. Going by its recent product history, this action camera (even at around Rs 10K) could signal the next move in consumer technology arena.
